With the market in its existing condition and our purse strings all that just more tighter, it is uplifting to know there are businesses out there with directories or listings of freebies from businesses available to the everyday consumer. Granted, some of the offers may just be a couple of tampons or useless things like stickers, but, throw those tampons in your purse, gym bag and you are covered! There is a need to become a more sustainable country and so sites that offer recycled or environmentally friendly products are becoming more common. There are often businesses that purchase 12 month magazine subscriptions on your behalf! All you have to do is sign up with no ongoing obligation or submission of your credit card details. Extremely popular magazines like Oprah?s magazine have been offered on a number of occasions.
Some of the cooler things that I have gotten for free are:
Great food samples from Maccas, Ben and Jerry?s Outback Jack, Burger King, Raising Cane?s, Dunkin? Donuts and much more.
Free Beauty free stuff from L?Oreal, Olay and fragrances from Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Nautica, Lacoste and Avril Lavigne.
freebies from Cheerios, Lysol, Greenworks, Neutrogena, Kotex, Depend, Nicoderm and so much more.
Magazine publications too many to count and name!
One place you should definitely check out once a week is www.walmart.com/samples. About once a week Walmart will update that page and offer about 3 to 5 samples of products. Examples include the newest type of feminine products, grocery samples and over the counter medications. The best thing is that Walmart is such a reliable brand in itself that the free samples always turn up with no conditions. However Walmart samples are limited as businesses that wish to send out free trial samples through them spend copious amounts of money which is not available in every company?s budget. Therefore they advertise their free samples through their own networks without the same amount of publicity and attention than if they were advertising through Walmart.
One site that is great at bringing the best free stuff everyday is FreeStuff4Free.com. Starting to gain traction in the free stuff segment, they also offer prizes each month to those that sign up to their daily mail out which highlights the best freebies for each day aptly name the ?Catch of the Day?.
If you?re new to this game of signing up for freebiesfree samples, the no. 1 piece of advice that you can use is create a ?spam? email account when signing up. Never use your work email address unless you want to bombarded with unsolicited and unwanted spam mail.
So using the above information, sign away and grab some great stuff!

In the midst of a deep recession, saving money and becoming thrifty is often hard especially as we have become used to our standard of living. I would like to suggest that a slight tweak to the way you approach life will not only save you cash, but will actually make you feel like a better person. You see, we are a consumerist nation, using goods and services so freely we don?t take into account who or what we are affecting with our consumption. So when a financial crisis hits, I believe it might be time to take stock of our lives and reflect on what could be done better not just to help ourselves but to help others and the environment. That?s why I am a strong supporter for freebies and the like. The great thing about free stuff is that it allows for all of the above to occur.
1) It is a money saving measure ? By trialling new products and services that are released onto the market or even established products, consumers are able to decide for themselves if a product suits their lifestyle. It saves cash as you do not have to purchase a full sized sample if you are unfamiliar with the brand. If you have purchased an item and do not like it, you will more than likely discard it leaving you with poor value for money. Trialling free samples prevents this issue.
2) Helps shape and mould your thinking about certain products and goods ? Much like the above point, the more freebies you get to check out, the better informed you are when you enter the mall or supermarket. You will have established in your thoughts what is good for you, what works, what doesn?t and your preferences around that. You could essentially determine your lifestyle with products and brands that you prefer from a young age.
3) Minimises damage to the environment ? Given the sensitive nature of climate change arguments, anything that allows your lifestyle to minimise harm to the environment is a good thing. Again, following from the above 2 points, free samples emphasises that positive outcome.
So aside from the above 3 points, it is worth noting that you will become a much better and aware consumer. You will become a savvy and thrifty shopper if you maintain this attitude through a difficult set of financial circumstances. I will always stand behind freebies as a concept and believe more and more, as we head into the future that this will become the established method of companies selling to consumers and also a way for consumers to do their part for the environment and hip pocket.
