well mario galaxy DID have those giant crystals that looked like rupees (forgot where, just look for them) . But mario has been in several zelda games. ok….maybe only a few. lol and dont get me started on their appearances in donkey kong country 2

But seriously though, the Metal Gear series did a hell of a better job keeping the story making sense from the 8-bit era til the present day. Non-canon games in that series are marked so fans never get confused. Miyamoto got to learn something from Kojima.

u screwed up on the story of link to the past its not really that big of a deal but his uncle isnt dead he got sick and after ganon is defeated at the ending thing it shows them sitting beside each oher but its not a big deal just thought i would point it out :/

cool. a lot of people think ocarina of time is the best. when it first came out, it just shocked everyone with it’s awesomeness. i got a little while on virtual console on the wii. but one of the main reasons wind waker is my favorite game is because it was my first zelda game. without i wouldn’t be in 2 zelda in the first place!

Same story, different timeline, whole new deal. The difference is MG knows where it wants to end. By the time of MGS4, it has really came to an end, “fuckers” don’t just keep coming back like *ahem* these Zelda games here.
But who plays Zelda games for the story anyway, I don’t give a fuck. Give me a Nintendo game that has Link, I’ll dig it.

How do you know it’s come to an end? They’ll probably make another with snake clone or something like that. In fact, the new game for the PSP hasn’t even been released yet. Snake is still kicking…if you know…snakes had legs…

The new games are more like back stories than a continuation of the story. We never really knew how Snakes clones were actually created, how they are separated after fighting side-by-side or the details of the Les Enfants Terribles project. The Rising game probably explores Raiden’s story arc where he rescues Sunny and how he became a cyborg, MGS4 never bothered explaining that. And they did do 2 games about Snake clones actually (AC!D series). but geez, I’m turning by geek mode off.

I’m pretty sure that is indeed the case. From what I’ve read, at the end of “Ocarina of Time”, a two timelines were created: one with young Link (leading to Majora’s Mask) and one which continued older Link’s timeline (leading to Twilight Princess).
